The Argument to Endorse Donald Trump
Steak for Breakfast instantly endorsed Donald J. Trump to be the 47th President following his big announcement last week. Why the argument for anything else moving forward is simply a waste of time.
Last Tuesday night, from Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, the 45th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump kicked off his 2024 Presidential re-election campaign to become the 47th President. He crossed the political Rubicon and in doing so, returned to the arena he knows so well. Some called the announcement early, others referred to the move as not surprising, however, I feel that the timing and placement of the announcement were just right.
Following the results of the 2022 midterm elections, and regardless of how you feel that Republicans fared in the end, one thing was made abundantly clear once the final votes were tallied - that conservatives have a major leadership problem and that problem is not going to fix itself organically, or anytime soon. And it’s not that there aren’t leaders within the party, it’s just become such a massive conglomerate of celebrating mediocrity and passiveness that we’ve come to accept a “roll with the punches” or “we’ll get em next time, for sure” mentality from the current establishment leadership up on Capitol Hill, with no apparent desire to change or adapt in sight.
Enter the Donald Trump wrecking ball, again (again).

The one thing that will separate Donald Trump from his primary challengers in the 2024 Presidential Election cycle is that he brings a robust (and unfinished) catalog of accomplishments and achievements that were in real time, overshadowed by a (failed) Special Counsel and two Impeachment (witch hunt) trials. Whether it be the most secure border in nearly 100 years, energy independence, record low inflation, reworked international trade deals and policy’s, domestic deregulation, the Abraham Accords, a record high economy or historically difficult to deal with world adversaries falling in line, you may have not liked the way that Donald Trump got to the bottom line, but holy crap did the man deliver more often than not. Factor in the now commonly known, self-inflicted damage we did to ourselves overreacting to the pandemic, and you can make the case that man was damn near robbed of his entire presidency.
In declaring his candidacy to run again, Donald Trump has already opened himself to his first democrat challenger, in the form of the partisan DOJ and its head, the revenge hire Merrick Garland through announcement last week to order a (another) Special Counsel to look into whether or not to charge Trump with (literally) anything related to already open (and probably future probes) because the actual substance to indict him (for also literally nothing) fails to exist. This completely manufactured dark cloud will now sit securely over the Trump campaign for what I assume will be the entirety of election cycle thanks to unsubstantiated and unsourced “leaks” fed directly into the MSM machine.
Other top contenders likely to attempt at taking down MAGA will come from the slowly diminishing wing of the Republican Party, better known as the establishment. Former stress eater, and Trump Administration Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo and current stress eater, and former Governor, Christ Christie are near the top of the list. As are former Vice President Mike Pence, former Governor and Ambassador, Nikki Haley, soon-to-be former Governor Larry Hogan, current New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu and possibly former Senator and Democrat turned Republican Tulsi Gabbard round out the short list of those weighing their options. You have to throw Florida Governor, Ron DeSantis I’m the mix as well, although it is my personal feeling that RDS will eventually see the writing on the wall and know that a head-to-head matchup with Trump would cause a lot of damage in the Republican Party and in the end spell political disaster for him, as he will be damaged goods after a loss to Trump. The same goes for current Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin, who I speculate wants the Trump smoke even less than RDS does. Will there be more? The answer is undoubtably yes, however, those without the star power and Paul Ryan / Rupert Murdock backed cable news outreach will have little chance once officially in the ring with Donald Trump. Many people, especially MSM pundits forget the bloodied battle that was the 2015 Presidential Primaries and even more assume that Donald Trump has either lost a step or doesn’t have what it takes to dish it out in the same first race for the White House fashion. This will prove to be at the very least, a feeble attempt to pied piper MAGA supporters away from the 45th President, for a more of what they refer to as suitable, or more electable pick.
President Trump has not shown any slowing in the amount of punishment he dishes out, either via his Save America Rally Circuit or at speaking events like CPAC Even serving up heaters in the form of a “Truth” on his social media application, Truth Social. Just ask the “Old Crow,” Mitch McConnell, or his CCP-aligned spouse, Elaine “Coco” Chao.
Which bring us to somewhat potential but more than likely hypothetical Don Don vs Ron Ron (almost non) arguments, as we call it on the Steak for Breakfast Podcast. Manufactured by big donors and media moguls who want a hard pivot away from Trump and MAGA, while being stoked by the likes of Ken Griffin, Rupert Murdock, Paul Ryan, the RNC, Bush / McCain/ Romney / McConnell neocon backers and with a sprinkling of Paul Singer - we’re talking billions of dollars and even more reach than anyone can simply comprehend. This swampy conglomerate has in lock step, been a thorn in the side of MAGA since it’s infantile stages and now often aligns even with former Obama era officials and current Beltway dissenters to push back against the America First movement as the literal end of democracy and a direct threat to all things that they hold dear - their grip on power, and never-ending flow of money to line their pockets. The establishment and the radical left will do everything in their power to form a Uniparty alliance that will do everything that they can and use all that they have learned over the past half decade to try and slow President Trump down. My guy tells me it won’t be Ron DeSantis. And even with all the prodding, praise and hype RDS is getting from the legacy parrots, his path numerically is the same as Trump’s in 2024, however he brings zero Presidential capital to the argument and discussion in doing so if he does dare try to capture the throne.

Knowing all of this, and assuredly more that potentially stands in his way, Donald Trump still went ahead and made it official last week announcing his candidacy for the White House in 2024. My deduction leads me to believe that because of the amount of work that needs to be done both within the Republican Party and the way moving forward, the way that we’re voting and navigating social media is why the announcement has come at this time. It needs work, and it needs some major retooling. In addition, the Trump re-election machine needs to be reengineered and re-staffed with those who aren’t just along for the ride or their potential golden parachutes, but for this moment - as a race that we’re all getting in together, as Donald Trump highlighted in his campaign kickoff event last week.
Most importantly, and probably at the direction of Donald Trump, the early announcement most likely came to clear the field. Although critics and naysayers will joyfully take shots at the 45th President on social media and the Sunday morning news circuit, they all know that Donald Trump brings a better than average resume to counter their argument provided statesman-like vibes in his speech to highlight such last week at Mar-a-Lago in his kickoff event. Donald Trump as President has been there, and he has done that, and in turn, anyone running against him is either running on an adjacent platform, hence the similarities will eventually wash them out of the argument, or they’re running away from populist nationalism which will not resonate with the actual base and detract from moderates, independents and walk-aways who are historically turned off by establishment candidates.
The largest issue of the Presidential Primary Season will likely become the argument on just how Donald Trump as the likely nominee gets to the 270 electoral votes needed to reclaim the White House. In 2016, places like the blue wall states and Pennsylvania turned for Trump as historical anomalies but look vastly different heading into 2024. This means our time, effort, money and focus should in some context remain in places like Michigan and the Keystone State, but also shift back into Ohio, Georgia, North Carolina and Wisconsin while seeing what inroads we can still make in disastrous voter graveyard locations like Nevada and Arizona. Early Voting (EV) and voting by mail (VBM) have to, have to, have to be a part of the attack we use nationally in not having to makeup so much ground on Election Day when Republicans prefer to go to the ballot box. It’s going to require an appeal for young voters, moderates, independents and potential walk aways; all things that Donald Trump will have an the political outsider running that we need to harness and weaponize throughout race and hold on to - where in instances past (especially in the the 2022 midterms) we lose our grip right before the finish line, or election day. Party unity will matter. Outside endorsements will matter. Combining the war chests will matter. And most importantly, the team around Donald Trump at the inner-circle of the inner-circle will matter, and probably above all things will matter the most to ensure victory.

But Donald Trump knows these things and he is fully aware after all that he and his family have been through, what exactly is required and what it is going to take to become President once again. You can run the perfect race and still come up short, and that is why I speculate that his announcement came at such an early juncture and so far out from the primary. He’s setting up a new and comprehensive team. He is listening to those around him who are talking about changing the way we vote in future elections. He is moving people around and into leadership positions that hopefully remain loyal and push for the America First agenda.
And most importantly, Donald Trump is making a commitment (or endorsement) to the American People much in the same sense that we have decided to endorse him. As he prepares to take this journey again (again) for one, last time in an attempt to save this country from the radical left, progressive, globalist and establishment agendas, President Trump hopes that those who really want to Make America Great Again are going to be along for the ride of a lifetime.
