The DeSlipper Won’t Fit.
After a year of buildup, Ron DeSantis launches his presidential bid on the back of Elon Musk’s rocket. The establishment see it as a potential Cinderella story for the GOP. America First knows better.
Save the date.
Today marks the day that Florida Governor, Ron DeSantis finally makes his long anticipated announcement declaring his candidacy for the GOP nomination in the 2024 Republican Primary.
In one of the oddest buildups to a presidential launch, and after months of domestic book touring, international travel, internet astroturfing, digital history rewriting, awkward public appearances, robotic soundbites and cringy nervous laughs, we’ve finally reached the end of the pregame show and the main event is about to commence.
The overhyped DeSantis political kickoff will occur later this afternoon on Twitter of all places, and will be hosted by current (and exiting) CEO Elon Musk, and moderated by David Jacks (a DeSantis donor), where for the better part of the last decade, America First has had their voices silenced, narratives crushed, accounts nuked and users banished on the platform for carrying the mantle of Making America Great Again.
Seems to make perfect sense.
In an apparent tell of not being able to produce a publicly attended event that rivals in size to the current GOP frontrunner and presumptive nominee, Donald J. Trump, the DeSantis Team, now headed by Jeff Roe, the politically tone deaf and former Ted Cruz campaign manager is well aware that first impressions and optics mean everything.
So why not use the smoke and mirrors, provided by Musk and his nearly 150 million followers to continue propping up the paper tiger that is DeSantis while the iron’s still hot and before Trump makes his long overdue (and eventual) return to the platform that rendered him excommunicado from the app following the events of January 6th.
Seems to be in the same thread of one-sided promotional messaging and angle that again, weaponizes Twitter against Donald Trump in nearly the same fashion that former CEO, Jack Dorsey allowed the space to be hijacked against the former president America First by federal law enforcement, elements of the department of Justice, components of the DNC and even members of Congress for nearly a decade prior to Musk purchasing the app late last year.
We all remember the #twitterfiles now don’t we?
The greatest satisfaction that MAGA Nation can make today is that over the past nearly eight years now, not a thing has changed.
Trump still dominates the left both in narrative and with his established resume, while the Cruz Krew and the Bush / Ryan wing of the Republican Party never got over their 2016 primary defeats and faked MAGA for four years just to get paid, gain online followers and have their photos snapped next to a thumbs-upping Trump while he’s seated at the Resolute Desk.
To this point, many have tried, and all have failed.
There is no reason to to panic, even as Rupert Murdoch, Ken Griffin and Paul Singer dig their claws deeper into political moderates like Elon Musk, swaying him more towards the dark side.
Or maybe Musk was never really good, and he was just opened up Twitter to lure us all in, in an attempt to crush the lasting remnants of Trump’s online war machine.
Just remember we have been here before; we beat the Clinton money-making machine and sent her out to pasture.
The best advice for today would be just to ride the DeSanctus launch out. Enjoy all the memes, recalibrate your bearings and bask in the fact that both figuratively and literally we (the supporters of Donald Trump) have already won.
There are no votes at this point for DeSantis to pull from Trump and it’s become apparent that the rest of the field is going to collaborate on hitting the Florida Governor on everything from the pandemic to his losing battle with Disney.
Once the Musk-hosted, Twitter Space ends today we can all conclude and rest assure in the one undeniable fact that we all should relish in.
Ron DeSantis will be one step closer to that first debate, and head-to-head showdown with the man who took down sixteen other career politicians in the 2016 election cycle meaning, that he is one day closer to the legitimate end of this political career.
America First hopes it was worth it, Governor.
